A special collaboration of great artists came together to make this phenomenal film version of Cyrano de Bergerac. Masterful stage actor Jose Ferrer took his abilities to the big screen and earned a Best Actor Academy Award for his timeless portrayal of the famously silver tongued and large nosed Cyrano de Bergerac. The object of Cyrano's amorous infatuation, Roxanne, is adroitly played by the rapturous Mala Powers. Their tragic tale of true love by proxy is woven picturesquely by director Michael Gordon into a checkered quilt of desire and despair. A superb adaptation of a timeless narrative, Cyrano de Bergerac sparkles on the screen with enchanting feeling and power.
